T’s favorite music video artists, Cookie Monster, Elmo, Will.I.Am, Katy Perry, Snoop, and more

T doesn’t watch a lot of tv. I like that he doesn’t, but it’s honestly due more to circumstance than to our philosophy on kids and tv. He comes home from daycare typically around 5 or 5:30PM and goes to bed around 7:45PM, so we just don’t have that much time with him in the evening, and we’re usually pretty happy to keep the tv off during that time, and on the weekends, we are usually out doing stuff.

Plus most of the stuff we actually follow, like Breaking Bad, is less than appropriate for a toddler. Mommy, why is Walt always killing bitches? Right.

There are exceptions of course like the Olympics or if the Red Sox are actually on tv here in abq. Or shark week. (Although Shark Week is kind of lame this year, right?) I don’t want him watching a lot of tv anyways, so it works out pretty well.

We’re by no means perfect in keeping our kiddo from staring at a screen, though, because we are big fans of youtube videos. Here are some or T’s faves.

We love the Super Simple Songs videos, especially the ones with people, not cartoons, singing. These are some of their best:

Eensy Weensy Spider!

Uh huh!

And we love us some Sesame Street!

If you haven’t seen Cookie Monster’s “Share it Maybe,” you’ve been living under a rock. Even if you don’t have kids, this is hilarious 🙂

We love this one by Will.I.Am,  super cute and fun to dance to for T and for mom and dad.

A classic. Never gets old.

I find this one amusing because Katy Perry is wearing a pretty skimpy outfit for her playdate with Elmo. This is not one of my fave Katy Perry songs, either, but we pull this one up if we’ve already watched everything else and T needs one more quick video.

And sometimes we just pull up California Gurls with Katy Perry and Snoop. Katy’s outfits in this one are not much more revealing than in the Elmo video. Not sure how long we’ll rock out to this one, though, because at some point T might ask why Katy is spraying whipped cream out of her boobies.

What YouTube videos do your kiddos rock out to?

“Imagine That” with Ernie has always been one of my favorites. 😀 Hopefully M3 agrees!

Show him the one first; T loves dancing to that one, and he even rocks out with air drums when I play it!
